Upgrade Any
Can i upgrade any weapon in final fantasy 13 to the end-game weapon for any character?
before i beat the game i want to go back and upgrade everything that is possible, especially the weapons for maximum strength and magic. for instance, does it matter if i upgrade gladius, lionheart, or any other gunblade to get the ultima or omega weapon? is it specific or can i upgrade whatever i want?
Its specific as to what weapon it turns into when upgraded. Though most people have a preference as to which is best per charactor. However it varies from person to person so in all honestly just upgrade which ever one you feels best suits the way you use that person. Fang for example is the best commando in the group so you would want one with good attack for her. With Vanille or Hope you would want a weapon with good magic. You get weapons with various additionall effects which you should also consider.
As for if you can upgrade everything, yes you can. When you hit chpater 11 you can pretty much farm all you want since its not a straight path anymore and you could upgrade everything.
